Exceptional performance for cinematography with full frame capability – Samyang 12mm T3.1 VDSLR ED AS NCS Fisheye Lens is the cine / video version of the Samyang 12mm f2.8 lens featuring the same excellent optics, but with integrated gearing for video rigs with follow focus systems. Full frame compatible, suitable for cameras and interchangeable lens camcorders fitted with 24x36mm (full frame) or smaller sensor.

Samyang 12mm T3.1 is a bright, super wide-angle fish-eye lens offering 180 degrees on a full frame (24 x 36mm format) sensor. Particularly designed for full-frame cameras such as the Canon 5D, Nikon D800, D810, or the Sony A7, A7R, A7s etc. this 12 mm compatible with smaller sensor cameras, so is available on special order for other mount cameras, such as Fujifilm X, Pentax K, Sony A, Canon M, Samsung NX, Olympus Four-Thirds, and Micro Four Thirds (MFT) for Panasonic and Olympus mirrorless compact system cameras.

The Samyang 12mm fisheye is a manual lens, with manual focus. In terms of the optics, it is one of the most advanced “fisheye” lenses.

With excellent build, and optical construction, it features 12 lens elements arranged in 8 groups including three elements made of low dispersion ED glass and two aspherical lens elements ensuring perfect image depth and minimising chromatic aberration.

Samyang 12mm T3.1 fish-eyes features the highly effective NCS nanocrystal anti-reflection coating applied together with standard UMC coatings provides accurate focus, high contrast and natural colour reproduction even shooting wide open, and it is an excellent lens for use in in diverse lighting conditions with its fast T3.1 aperture.

The 7 circular aperture blades create excellent bokeh for such a ultra wide angle lens. The frame of the lens is compact and solid since it is made of high-strength aluminium. The detachable petal-shaped lens hood minimizes flare and ghosting.

Fisheye lenses are popular for special effects use where distortion, exaggerated perspective, or extreme depth of field are desired. The Samyang fisheye lenses are also capable of producing panoramas and 360 virtual tours, including full 360 degree images with use of various third party software, available from other vendors.
