Samyang 12mm T2.2 VDSLR NCS CS is the cine lens version of the 12mm f2.8 featuring thesame excellent optics, but with integrated gearing for video rigs with follow focussystems, and decoupled aperture.Suitable for APS-C mirrorless cameras with Cropped Sensors (CS) it is a high performingmanual focus prime lens, especially suited to cameras fitted with a high resolution sensor(above 24MP). Available mounts include Sony E-mount, Canon M, Samsung NX, Fujifilm-X mountand Micro Four Thirds (on Panasonic, Olympus and Blackmagic design cameras) offering manycompact systems an affordable, high quality, ultra wide angle lens dedicated for video andfilm.Although the VDSLR versions have been developed primarily for video / movie makingpurposes, they can equally be used for stills photography. The Samyang VDSLR lens versionsare rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops which is usual for cinema type lenses. The T-number expresses the actual light transmission, which is more accurate and the standard inprofessional cine lenses. The aperture and focus scale have been relocated to the side ofhe lens, to aid videographers and viewing the scales when mounted to video rigs.The Samyang 12mm offers an equivalent wide angle of 18mm on APS-C sized sensors, 24mm onMicro Four Thirds (MFT) mount. A fast aperture of T2.2 allows shooting even in lower lightconditions. Optical construction of the lens comprises 12 elements divided into 10 groupsincluding one aspherical lens (ASP) and one hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP). There are alsohree lenses made of ED glass, offering superb performance. Technologically the Samyang12mm lenses are the most advanced Samyang lens to date.The Samyang 12mm features Samyang’s new nano crystal anti-reflection coating system (NCS).These new coating provides even lower reflection factor than Samyang’s UMC coatings. TheNCS coating technology offers exacting process to apply anti-reflection coating moreevenly on the surface of the lens. Other benefits brought by the nano crystal layerinclude improved light transmission, increased resistance to reflections resulting inmaximum image contrast.
